100th Day Writing & A Freebie

I'm a little behind the times since we had our 100th day a couple of weeks ago, but it's been
a crazy couple of weeks!  Progress reports are due, I was out two days for a conference, plus parent/teacher conferences start Tuesday...WHEW!

We did an oldie but goodie that is not my original idea.  It was shared with me by another
teacher years ago when I taught Kinder.  If you originated this adorable idea please
let me know so that I can give you credit!  It's so fun to see how my kids imagine themselves
when they are 100!

We started out by talking about "retirement".  Most of my kids had no idea what that word
meant and a few thought it meant to "re-tire" a car as in change the tire again.  I do love how
they decomposed the word though, and it was the perfect opportunity for a little prefix review!

We also made a class book titled Things I've Been Told 100 Times!

I love this next one: "I've been told 100 times to put the toilet seat down."
I heard that one 100 times growing up with 5 brothers!

I saw this on Pinterest...
We could have used this at my house!

Here's a little freebie if you'd like to make this book with your class. I know most have
already celebrated their 100th day, but you can always save it for next year!

Our conferences fall on Valentine's Day this year. I was planning to do this next week, but                               we squeezed in a little Valentine's Day writing so my kiddos could give them to their parents.

I've linked up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday!  Be sure to stop by and check out
all the great ideas!

  1. I love the kid's writing that says he's been told 100 times not to put his finger in a zoo animal's mouth lol! He sounds like he might be a bit of a handful!
