Happy New Year, friends!
Just after Christmas I had a chance to meet up with some of my
favorite people and meet some wonderful teachers and new friends!
We had dinner, LOTS of conversation, and a gift exchange!
Hello 2014!
Do you know the story behind 'Keep Calm and Carry On'?
My husband came across this video. I love it's history and how it was
rediscovered. And that little bookstore is to die for!

Here's a little rewind of some things we did during that last
cRaZy week before Christmas break! This was one of the most fun things I've
ever done and my kids LOVED it! On the Monday before the break
my students came in to this! Each day I put a little gift on their desks
and we sang the 12 Days of Christmas and changed the
words a bit!
To keep it a surprise I left the chart rolled up and lowered it a
a little each day.
These are some of their gifts...
They were so excited to see what was on their desk each day! I made an
activities page to go with each gift.
I'm in the process of putting them all together and I'll post this in my TPT store
so you can do it with your class next year!
This is one of my holiday favorites!
We did our Secret Santa of Kind Words
Precious, precious, precious!
As I put rolls of tape out I was just about to say "Use only one piece of tape"
when one of our Kinder cuties popped in for some help....
(I'm right across the hall from the rest rooms and I often get little visitors having trouble)
I turned back around to this...
Next week we'll be doing some New Year's Writing! We'll be learning about the history
of New Year's celebrations, and defining a resolution.
Then we'll write some of our own!
Before the break I somehow managed to get everything graded
AND sent home! But...I forgot to send home my report cards! Ugh.
I made this little funny for my team for a Monday morning giggle...
I'm linking up with Doodle Bug's Teaching for another
Five For Friday! Be sure to stop by!
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you have a wonderful 2014!
Great video! Love it!
