Five for Friday Valentine's Edition!

I thought I'd pop in and link up with Doodle Bug's Teaching
for a Five for Friday Valentine's Edition!
My teammate came up with this idea for our 100th day
which fell the week of our MLK holiday and two weeks before
Valentine's Day. Our 100 Dreams!

In response to reading and learning about Dr. Martin Luther King
and listening to his I Have a Dream speech we asked all of our second graders
to write 3 or 4 dreams they have for the world.  We filled our hallway
with hearts and dreams!

We had a Valentine's Day math party with The Candy Bandit
after lunch that was a HUGE hit!

Valentine's Day math center for skip counting within 1000
Valentine's Day math centers make a great alternative to the
usual party.  We roam the room to complete math activities then
pass out our valentines!

Ideas for a Valentine's Day math party with math centers!
I made these little valentines to give my class with Play Doh
from Dollar Tree.

Download the free student valentines.

We later used the Play Doh for some measurement practice!

I love the Pinterest influence on Valentine's Day!
My kiddos brought in the cutest things!

My students brought in the cutest Valentine's Day mailboxes and gifts!

My students brought in these adorable Valentine's Day gifts!

We also finished up our measurement unit this week as well as
our opinion writing pieces. We tied them together by making
these perimeter pets to illustrate our opinions about which
animals make the best pets!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out all of
the other Five for Friday posts!
