With Valentine's Day behind us I'm in full planning mode for
Dr. Seuss' birthday, March 2 and Read Across America Week!
I thought I'd share some of our fun from last year in case
you're like me and still racking your brain
for an idea! Honestly, my little friends loved this so much
I may do it again this year....
And yes, we are HUMAN CANDLES!
Oh, the squeals of joy!!
I snapped a picture of each of my kiddos wearing a hat
that I made with a sentence strip and tissue paper twisted into
a flame shape.I had to laugh at myself when it was all said
and done because it would have been
SO much easier to just glue a little yellow flame on their heads!
After a very funny discussion about all of the things Dr. Seuss
has given us as readers as well as our fondest first memories
of reading his books, we baked him a cupcake!
My kiddos then wrote about all of the things this author
has given them as readers and thought of a gift they'd like
to give him in return!
There are two versions of this writing craft,
one being a foldable booklet that opens up.
We did the page topper version for our hallway display.
Find this fun by clicking {HERE} or on any of the pictures!
This is one of my favorite crafts! I am thinking I'll do the gigantic cake on my board this year!
