It's finally here! Our first day of school! I've been waiting....
and waiting...and WAITING for my class to arrive!
And today they did! And they've got some 'splainin' to do!
We read the MOST precious and perfect first day book,
You're Finally Here! by Melanie Watt, author of the
lovable little Scaredy Squirrel. We'll be using this book
all week for my class to explain what took them so long
to get to my class, connect (and giggle) with new friends,
get up and get moving, play games, give opinions,
and of course, read and write!
I'll be posting more about all that we did, but in the meantime
you can see all of our You're Finally Here fun from last year!
Be sure to come back if you click on the link
because I've got a surprise waiting for you!
To celebrate that my class has FINALLY arrived
I'm giving away 2 Book and Bundle sets!
The bundle is filled with lots of back to school activities,
bulletin boards, and classroom displays for your
bulletin boards, and classroom displays for your
whole first week and.......
I've just updated this favorite unit with
a little bunny of a book character writing craft PLUS
a few other time saving goodies. Use the craft
for students to write about what they want to do, learn,
or accomplish now that they're finally here!
I've also added additional templates to create a
Meet the Teacher or Back to School Night display
PLUS pages for you to take a first week writing sample.
Pretty much everything you need for a fun,
first week of literacy!
Here's a little peek at just some of what the unit includes:

This looks like a fabulous product. I bought this book half way through the way last year, but forgot about it until now. I will definitely be using it as my first day read!

I went to Barnes and Noble last weekend to buy the book and use your unit, but they didn't have it. They said the book is no longer in print! Isnt' that weird?! I plan to look for it on half.com or Amazon, but won't have time to get it in before school starts. Next year!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Ann,
DeleteFor some reason the book is now only being printed in Canada. You can find the book at IndigoBooks.com for $13.95. I recently purchased additional copies and received them within a week.
