Apple Up Your Fall Bulletin Boards!

Happy almost Fall! Today, as our apple activities
series continues, I want share a fun and  easy way
to apple up your fall bulletin boards AND save
you time!

Apple up your fall bulletin boards! Fall bulletin board ideas. Part of a 5-part blog series of apple activities kids love!

I try to work smarter, not harder, when it comes
to my bulletin boards. I begin the year by layering
a few colors of fabric that I know I can tie a
monthly theme to.  Some years I've even used
red from September-February.

Next, add a scrunched paper apple tree for
a 3D-ish effect. You can change the green
paper to orange in October and November,
add more green to make a triangular pine
tree shape for the holidays, then in March,
add small pink scrunched up tissue paper
for spring blossoms.

In October, we displayed vocabulary acorns
with synonyms of varying shades of meaning
on our Fall tree along with our Stellaluna book studies.

Smaller items and crafts your students create
look great hanging on your tree! Here's a
variation we did another year.

on our tree.

We displayed our bushels of collective nouns crafts
on the board under the tree.

Another year as we were working with synonyms
students chose an apple related word and used
a thesaurus to help them list synonyms of
that word.

We hung those on our tree too, along with
letters we wrote to Johnny Appleseed
published in an apple core craft.
